Strengthening primary health care (PHC) systems is critical to achieving sustainable improvements in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH&N) outcomes. A well-functioning PHC system ensures timely access to essential services, equitable coverage, and continuity of care—key drivers of reductions in maternal and child mortality. To support these goals, innovative approaches are needed to generate timely, actionable data on both population coverage and the experience of care, but in-person surveys are resource-intensive, time-consuming, and infrequently implemented. The rapid rise of mobile phone technology, including network penetration and the ownership and use of mobile phones by wide cross-sections of the global population, presents a potential opportunity to collect rapid, cost-effective data on RMNCAH&N interventions.

What can you expect?

In January and February 2025, we organized a series of webinars to advance the use of mobile phone surveys (MPS) for the measurement and tracking of indicators for RMNCAH&N. This webinar series brings together public health researchers, practitioners, survey and measurement experts, and funders to collaboratively share evidence, methods, and experiences and chart a path forward for leveraging MPS to measure RMNCAH&N indicators in LMICs. The series is jointly hosted by the Global Financing Facility (GFF) and Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

This webinar series address the opportunities and challenges of MPS, with the goal of:

Sharing experiences and methodologies used in MPS, especially as they relate to RMNCAH&N,

Identify methodological gaps in MPS for RMNCAH&N, and

Prepare for a hybdrid convening on MPS & RMNCAH&N (Washington DC & online)

Dates and Recordings

Click on any of the webinars below to revisit the session recording in a new tab.
