As an LO I have not yet had that opportunity but when I used to work for the Govt I was involved in a number of them as a focal person and I would be involved in monitoring the research and dissemination of the final results. I would like to learn more about how to develop abstracts.
I think the physical meeting we had in Nairobi helped us network and learn from each other. There is just some level of networking that only meeting physically can achieve. I think there is need to plan for periodic such meetings.
Zambia, unlike most GFF countries does not have a running health project, we therefore attached the GFF grant to a Covid project.The GFF grant though attached to the Covid project is meant to help maintain essential health services. It has been very difficult to have the TWG/task teams prioritize spending on Essential health services (EHS). In the last weeks we have been finalizing the investment case (IC) and I am proud to mention that I made a presentation to the IC task team on the EHS funds. We went on to align these resources to the priorities in the IC and included this in the resource mapping. This week the task team has embarked on developing an action plan to ensure the EHS funds are spent on strengthening health systems as highlighted by the prioritized reforms in the IC.
Thank you Grace, I am interested in seeing the report and I think sharing through the portal will benefit more. Your experience has proven the challenges we are facing, it is like the focal Ministry in DRM is actually Ministry of Finance. The Health sector comes on board with the , “U” in dealing with technical and allocative efficiency.
