Data Use Learning Package

Microlearning

This learning package aims to enhance the capabilities of GFF country teams, counterparts, and partners on data and evidence use for decision-making in GFF-supported countries.

Data Use Learning Package

About this learning package

This package provides concrete guidance, tools, and other resources to promote strategic engagement in data use for decision-making. It is designed to encourage structured and comprehensive approaches that consider the availability and use of the full range of health systems data, as well as the importance of data use culture and competencies

  1. Guidance: GFF’s approach to strengthening data and evidence use for decision-making This Guidance explains the GFF’s approach and value-add in strengthening data use for decision-making. It outlines 5 key building blocks for data use and promotes use of the full range of health systems data (e.g., service delivery, finance, human resources, logistics, civil registration). It also includes guidance on how to engage strategically for maximum impact.
  2. Assessment tool: GFF Landscape Assessment for Data and Evidence Use – The GFF’s rapid Data Use Landscape Assessment can be used by countries together with GFF teams to systematically identify areas of need for data use on RMNCAH-N and priorities for action. It can also provide a starting point for identifying where the GFF and other partners may be able to add most value and support.
  3. Toolkit: GFF Competency-Based Approach for Data Use for Decision-Making – This toolkit provides practical tools for assessing countries’ data use competency needs and designing learning strategies in response. It addresses both the knowledge and skills needed to compile, analyze, and use data, and the organizational attitudes that will motivate and inspire teams to actively use data as part of their daily practice.
